Travel Registered Nurse PACU Job
Registered Nurse - PACU in Honolulu, HI. This 16-week travel assignment starts 04/27/2026 in a hospital setting. Weekly pay ranges from $2,569 to $2,611, with guaranteed 40 hours per week. Shift is rotating 4x10-hour (10-hour) shifts, with potential to switch to 8- or 12-hour shifts depending on unit needs. The assignment is in a large medical center (500+ beds; Level 1 Trauma Center) to support post-anesthesia care.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in PACU Phase I/II, including monitoring vitals, airway status, pain control, and recovery from anesthesia
- Assess and document patient status, respond to changes in condition, and escalate to physicians as needed
- Collaborate with anesthesia teams, surgeons, and postoperative units to ensure safe transitions and discharge from PACU
- Maintain strict adherence to patient safety, infection control, and documentation standards in the electronic medical record
- Manage telemetry monitoring for recovering patients; support patients requiring ICU-level observation as appropriate
- Participate in patient turnover, prepare patients for transfer to the next care phase, and assist with family communication as needed
- If RN coverage is not required on a given unit, may be assigned to alternative patient-care roles such as nursing assistant or safety sitter as directed
Requirements
- Licensure: Active, unencumbered Hawaii RN license required to apply
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred
- Certifications: Current BLS/HCP, ACLS, and PALS required
- Experience: Two (2) or more years of full-time PACU Phase I/II RN experience in a comparable size/type medical center (500+ beds, Level 1 Trauma Center) prior to any travel assignments
- Special requirements: Telemetry experience required; ICU experience highly preferred
- Other: All licenses and certifications must be valid at the time of application submission through the duration of the initial contract
- Additional notes: CPI (or equivalent) and NIHSS preferred; specialty certifications (CCRN, CPAN, PCCN) highly desired
- Compliance: All required documentation and compliance must be submitted no later than 10 days before contract start
