Responsibilities
- Conduct student-focused occupational therapy evaluations to identify needs and eligibility for services under IEP guidelines
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans addressing fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, school participation, and functional mobility
- Deliver direct therapy and small-group sessions within the school day, coordinating with teachers and related service providers
- Recommend accommodations, classroom modifications, adaptive equipment, and assistive technology; document progress and communicate with families and the IEP team
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation per district and program standards; participate in ongoing data collection and progress reporting
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support safe, effective participation in classroom activities and Transition/Progress planning as applicable
Requirements
- Active occupational therapy license in the state of Alaska
- Ability to work effectively in a school-based setting with students in grades K–12
- Strong collaboration skills with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary staff
- Availability for a day shift, approximately 40 hours per week
- Willingness to travel to and work within the Juneau area for the assignment
- Compliance with district prerequisites, including background checks and any required immunizations or clearances
