Responsibilities
- Delivers coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients in the ICU according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, ensuring safe, efficient care delivery.
- Coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment.
- Monitors patient status, administration of medications and treatments per policy, and documentation of care provided.
- Participates in rounds, communication with the care team, and escalation of changes in patient condition.
- Maintains patient safety and quality of care in a high-acuity critical care environment.
Requirements
- Active California RN license
- ICU nursing experience preferred
- BLS certification required
- Ability to work nights in an ICU/acute-care setting
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
