Responsibilities
- Monitor telemetry for adult patients and interpret dysrhythmias; respond to alarms and implement treatment per unit protocols
- Maintain peripheral venous access; manage IV lines and administer medications per plan of care
- Provide non-invasive airway support as needed (e.g., nasal cannula) and monitor patient respiratory status
- Apply isolation precautions and proper PPE; maintain patient safety and comfort
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team (nursing colleagues, physicians, unit secretary, and ancillary staff) to coordinate care
- Document accurately in EPIC; communicate changes in patient status and care plans to the team
- Educate patients and families about telemetry monitoring, medications, and care plans
- Adhere to unit policies, patient safety standards, and hospital infection control practices
Requirements
- Active RN license in good standing; pending license accepted per state-specific rules
- Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS
- Experience: Minimum 2 years RN experience; Telemetry/PCU experience preferred
- Ability to work in a Telemetry PCU setting for adult patients; ability to float within the service line and affiliate hospitals
- Ability to pass references and pre-employment checks; able to provide supervisory references if requested
- Compliance readiness: fit testing may be required; ability to meet facility vaccination requirements (flu required; exemptions allowed)
