Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated oncology nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care; adjust plans as needed based on patient response.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, with appropriate delegation and supervision.
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, pharmacists, and other health professionals, to optimize patient outcomes.
- Utilize critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making in care delivery; monitor patient status and respond to changes.
- Document care, communicate effectively with patients, families, and the health care team, and participate in rounds and handoffs.
Requirements
- Current California RN license (active).
- Oncology or acute inpatient nursing experience; travel nursing experience preferred.
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and maintain a high standard of patient care.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and collaboration skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, angle-to-angle care environment with multidisciplinary teams.
