Responsibilities
- Provide peri-procedural nursing care in cath lab and related cardiovascular labs for adult and pediatric patients, including pre-procedure assessment, monitoring, and post-procedure recovery in the holding area.
- Assist with diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures and device deployments, including TAVR, MitraClip, Watchman, PCI/CTO, and vascular interventions; support right and left heart hemodynamics and telemetry monitoring.
- Collaborate with CVT teams to optimize patient outcomes; manage monitoring equipment, sterile technique, and procedural readiness; administer moderate sedation as trained and monitor patient responses.
- Support, troubleshoot, and assist with complex devices and therapies, including mechanical circulatory support as needed (ECMO, Impella, IABP, ProtekDuo, LVAD); respond to procedural emergencies and arrhythmias.
- Maintain strict infection control, charting, and regulatory compliance; ensure safe patient flow between pre-, intra-, and post-procedure areas; provide education to patients and families as appropriate.
Requirements
- Active NY RN license
- BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications
- Moderate Sedation trained
- Telemetry experience
- Minimum 2 years Cath Lab or EP Lab experience
- Experience with structural heart procedures and related devices (TAVR, MitraClip, Watchman) and complex hemodynamics; familiarity with CTO, PCI, Pericardiocentesis, Vascular Interventions; exposure to devices such as RotoPro, AngioVac, FlowTriever
- Mechanical circulatory support experience required or strong demonstrated familiarity (ECMO, Impella, IABP, ProtekDuo, LVAD)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital setting and support weekend/holiday/on-call coverage as needed
