Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Monitor patients, administer medications and treatments per physician orders, and respond to changes in patient condition.
- Triage patients, prioritize care, and coordinate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure timely, safe treatment.
- Supervise and guide assigned nursing staff; delegate tasks as appropriate and maintain patient safety and infection control standards.
- Document care thoroughly, participate in discharge planning, and provide patient/family education.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and ancillary staff to ensure smooth care transitions and a safe environment.
Requirements
- Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license in California (state of practice) Required.
- Certifications: BLS; ACLS; PALS; NRP required. STABLE certification Required.
- Education/Experience: BSN preferred; minimum of 2 years ER/acute care experience preferred.
- Additional: Ability to work in a travel assignment with variable shift patterns; strong critical thinking and teamwork skills.
