Responsibilities
- Prepare anesthesia equipment prior to the patient’s arrival, place anesthesia monitors, ensure cleanliness of equipment, and confirm availability of specialized anesthesia supplies; set up medications and related supplies as applicable.
- Maintain continuous communication with anesthesiologists, residents, CRNAs, and anesthesia technologists to anticipate and meet needs throughout the day.
- Assist clinicians with difficult intubations and central line catheter placements; support advanced surgical cases as required.
- Operate specialized equipment (cell-saver machine, infusion pumps, nerve stimulators, defibrillators, transport monitors) and perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting; calibrate anesthesia machines and attach fiberoptic bronchoscopes as needed.
- Manage room setup between cases, restock carts, and coordinate with other units to ensure availability of required anesthesia equipment; provide backup coverage to shift leadership as needed.
- Support staff development and training initiatives, including participation in in-service programs and guidance for junior staff on the roles and responsibilities of an anesthesia technologist.

Requirements
- BLS certification required (American Heart Association)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Anesthesia Tech
- Education: Preferred four-year college education including related technical training; or a two-year college education with related technical training and two years of experience; or an equivalent combination
- Certification: Preferred certification by the registry of the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists or other nationally recognized certifying body
- Able to work in a high-acuity surgical environment and participate in on-call coverage as needed
