Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to neonates in the NICU, including monitoring vitals, supporting respiratory status, and assisting with ventilator management as ordered
- Manage lines and tubes (UAC/UVC, oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes), arterial line care, and IV access; administer medications as prescribed
- Support nutrition and feeding (bottle, breast, gavage) and monitor growth and hydration; manage surfactant and steroid-based therapies when indicated
- Conduct routine ROP exams and monitor for prematurity-related risks; participate in quality and safety initiatives for neonates
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (Respiratory, Physicians, Pharmacy, Social Services) to plan, implement, and adjust care plans; adhere to isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- Document in the electronic charting system (Epic); ensure accurate and timely updates of patient status, treatment plans, and family communication
Requirements
- Active WA RN license in-hand (RN) for practice in Washington
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of Level III NICU experience
- Epic charting experience
- Ability to work 3x12-hour night shifts; float to related maternity/postpartum neonatal areas as needed
- Neonatal critical care skills including ventilator management, and placement/management of lines and tubes
