Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic testing such as pulmonary function tests and blood gas analysis to assess lung and heart conditions.
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with physicians; monitor patient progress and adjust therapies as indicated.
- Provide emergency respiratory care and administer prescribed medications.
- Manage respiratory equipment, including mechanical ventilators; monitor patient status and adjust settings as required.
- Educate patients and their families on managing breathing disorders, inhaled medications, and operating necessary equipment; maintain accurate and complete patient records.
Requirements
- Active Respiratory Therapist licensure/registration (RRT) in good standing; must be registered.
- NBRC verification required.
- BLS certification (AHA) required.
- Epic experience required.
- Prior experience with pulmonary function testing and blood gas analysis is preferred; candidates without registration will not be considered.
