Overview
We are seeking a dedicated IT Technician to join our dynamic technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive technical support across various platforms and systems, ensuring optimal operation of hardware, software, and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in computer management, troubleshooting, and customer service, contributing to the seamless functioning of our IT environment. Duties
- Deliver technical support to end-users via help desk systems such as ServiceNow and Jira, resolving issues efficiently and professionally.
- Manage computer hardware including desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals to ensure their proper functioning.
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems such as Windows and macOS across company devices.
- Troubleshoot software problems related to Microsoft Office applications, operating systems, and specialized business software.
- Maintain and support computer networks including LAN (Local Area Network), VPN (Virtual Private Network), firewall configurations, and network security protocols.
- Assist with the setup and management of IT infrastructure components like servers, switches, and routers.
- Monitor system performance and conduct routine maintenance to prevent issues before they impact operations.
- Support IT security measures by configuring firewalls, managing user access controls, and ensuring data protection.
- Document technical procedures and maintain accurate records using tools like BMC Remedy or ServiceNow.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement system upgrades and new technology solutions.
Experience
- Proven experience in IT support or desktop support roles within a corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN setup, VPN configuration, and firewall management.
- Hands-on experience with operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting software issues within Microsoft Office suite and other common applications.
- Experience managing computer hardware components and performing routine maintenance tasks.
- Proficiency with help desk ticketing tools like ServiceNow or Jira for issue tracking and resolution.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure components including servers, switches, routers, and security devices is preferred.
