Responsibilities
- Meet patient goals and provide quality OT care by assessing evaluations and test results; develop treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription.
- Implement programs to help patients develop or regain physical or mental functioning, including activities of daily living, sensorimotor, prevocational, vocational, and homemaking skills; supervise aides and assistants.
- Promote maximum independence by tailoring therapies to each patient’s physical capacity, cognitive level, and interests.
- Prepare patients for return to employment by consulting with employers, identifying potential difficulties, retraining, and helping employers understand necessary accommodations.
- Evaluate outcomes, adjust treatment plans as needed, and participate in discharge planning with the care team; design home exercise programs and advise on assistive devices or outpatient/home health follow-up.
- Document patient care in charts and department records; maintain confidentiality; adhere to infection-control policies; ensure equipment operation and maintenance; pursue ongoing professional development and compliance with applicable laws.
Requirements
- Current Occupational Therapy License issued by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA)
- National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Previous occupational therapy experience preferred
- Ability to work in an inpatient healthcare setting and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
