Responsibilities
- Provide direct bedside nursing care for adult patients in the IMCU/PCU, with common diagnoses including neuro, cardiac, trauma, COPD, DKA, sepsis, MI, and CV stepdown needs.
- Monitor vital signs, telemetry, and hemodynamic status; respond promptly to deterioration and escalate as appropriate; collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
- Administer prescribed medications and IV therapies; manage treatments and document effects accurately.
- Manage device-related care on the unit (including chronic vents with RT support, temporary pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines, and BiPAP); monitor responses and adjust care as directed.
- Perform frequent assessments, formulate and update care plans, and participate in discharge planning and patient/family education.
- Document care in the EPIC electronic medical record and ensure chart accuracy; float to other units as needed and adhere to unit-specific policies.

Requirements
- Licensure: Active New York Registered Nurse license with Nursys verification; ability to provide proof of active NY RN licensure and any additional RN licenses.
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years of IMCU/PCU experience; travel experience required.
- Certifications: Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
- EMR: Proficient in EPIC EMR (EMR experience required).
- Additional: Must have a driver’s license with an address that matches demographics; ability to float to other units as needed; capable of working a night shift in a hospital setting.
- Eligibility: Local candidates considered at local rates if within 75 miles of assignment location.
