This travel assignment places you in a medical-surgical unit with exposure to multiple medical and surgical patients. The role includes floating to other units as needed, with orientation provided for each unit. A Hawaii state license is required by the start date, and proof of immunity is required; vaccination exemptions are not accepted in lieu of immunity documentation.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care on a Med Surg medical and surgical floors, including ongoing assessment and monitoring.
- Administer medications, manage IVs, and document care in the electronic medical record (Meditech EMR).
- Respond to clinical changes, escalate promptly, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Floats to other units/departments as needed to support patient care; maintain competency across units.
- Support wound care equipment (e.g., wound VAC), chest tubes, Pyxis medication dispensing, and standard post-op care.
- Provide patient and family education, discharge planning, and safe, evidence-based nursing practices.

Requirements
- Active Hawaii RN license by start date; “must-have” requirement to obtain Hawaii licensure prior to assignment.
- BLS is required; ACLS preferred; additional certifications such as PALS, TNCC, ENPC, or Procedural Sedation are considered beneficial but are not mandatory.
- 2–10 years of relevant Med Surg nursing experience.
- Ability to work in a hospital-based Med Surg environment and float to other units as needed.
- Proof of immunity required; medical and religious exemption requests will not be accepted in lieu of documented immunity.
- Must arrive the Thursday before start to complete employee health requirements.
