Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive PACU nursing care for a mixed-age population (infant through geriatric) recovering from anesthesia, including ongoing assessment and rapid response to changes in status
- Monitor vital signs, airway status, oxygenation, and hemodynamics; administer or titrate analgesics and antiemetics per protocol; manage IV access and fluid therapy
- Support and monitor patients with postoperative devices and equipment (e.g., SCDs, pain pumps, IV pumps; PCA/epidural systems as applicable)
- Obtain 12‑lead ECG when indicated; interpret telemetry data and collaborate with anesthesia providers on interventions as needed
- Maintain safe and efficient workflow within a 1:2 nurse–to–patient ratio; prepare patients for transfer to appropriate units or discharge home as indicated
- Document care accurately and timely; communicate patient status and discharge instructions to families and post‑op teams
- Collaborate with charge nurse and anesthesia staff to ensure patient safety and high‑quality recovery care

Requirements
- PACU or post‑anesthesia recovery experience preferred
- Ability to work in a high‑acuity recovery unit with an infant to geriatric patient population
- Comfort with vasoactive infusions and associated monitoring per unit protocols
- Flexibility to work either 4x10‑hour shifts or 5x8‑hour shifts (0800 start times)
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
- Commitment to patient safety and accurate handoffs
