Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for an individual patient or an assigned group of patients in the ER, following established standards and the nursing process.
- Monitor patient condition, administer medications, perform procedures within scope of practice, and utilize critical thinking to adjust care.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines to ensure a safe, efficient, and patient-centered environment.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate care plans; document and communicate patient needs and progress with the care team.
- Participate in discharge planning, provide education to patients and families, and contribute to a smooth transition of care.
Requirements
- Licensure: Current RN license to practice in the state of California
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required
- Additional certifications/credentialing: National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required
- Experience: At least two years of recent experience in a relevant field; acute care or ER experience preferred
- Education: BSN preferred
- Other: Ability to work in a fast-paced ER setting; EPIC EMR experience preferred
