Travel Registered Nurse NICU Job
RN II-NICU travel assignment in San Luis Obispo, CA, US. Start date: 04/13/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Schedule: 36 hours per week, nights (3x12-hour shifts). Setting: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with cross-training to pediatric units, within a home healthcare - hospice context. This position is represented by CNA. Weekly pay range: $1,977 to $2,104. This is a travel - temporary assignment.

Responsibilities
- Provide planning, coordination, and delivery of nursing care for neonates in the NICU during assigned nights
- Develop, implement, and revise care plans; administer medications as prescribed; monitor physiological changes in neonates
- Assess psychosocial needs of the patient and family; deliver education and training to families as appropriate
- Supervise and delegate nursing tasks to ancillary personnel within the scope of practice
- Cross-train and float to pediatric units as needed to support patient care needs
- Collaborate with the care team, including CNAs, to ensure continuity and quality of care
Requirements
- Active RN license (state-specific) appropriate for practice in California
- NICU experience or strong pediatric/neonatal nursing background preferred
- Ability to perform 12-hour night shifts and adapt to a travel assignment pace
- Effective communication skills for patient/family education and for collaboration with the care team
- Willingness to cross-train and float to pediatric units as needed
- Competence in safety, infection control, and high-acuity neonatal observation
