Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients per established standards and the nursing process.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines using critical thinking and independent judgment.
- Collect relevant data, assess health status, and develop an individualized plan of care; implement and adjust plan as needed.
- Monitor patient progress, evaluate outcomes, and modify interventions to attain desired goals.
- Provide education to patients and families; participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
- Delegate appropriately and coordinate duties of the healthcare team to maintain a safe, healing environment; collaborate with the treatment team.
Requirements
- Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (California) is required.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Additional facility-specific BLS as required; ACLS certification required.
- Experience: At least two years of recent field experience.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Special prerequisites: EPIC electronic medical record experience required; ability to work in a home healthcare - hospice setting; night-shift availability (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) and willingness to travel as part of a float pool assignment.
