Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency department, including triage, rapid assessment, stabilization, and ongoing monitoring.
- Triage and manage boarder patients, with potential to float to adjacent units such as med/surg, step-down, or ICU as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other team members to prioritize care, execute treatment plans, and facilitate timely dispositions (admission, transfer, or discharge).
- Demonstrate proficiency in trauma and emergent care protocols, including resuscitation, pain management, sepsis screening, and use of ED-specific protocols.
- Document accurately in the electronic health record, maintain patient safety and infection control standards, and ensure complete and compliant charting.
- Maintain ED skills proficiency and participate in ongoing credentialing and reference checks as requested.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar-sized Level 1 trauma facility (per job notes)
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required (per job notes)
- Resume with no gaps, ED skills checklist, and ED references (per job notes)
- Ability to work in a very busy ED environment and to float to nearby units as needed (per job notes)
- ED patient care competencies and the ability to collaborate in a high-acuity setting (implied by role and notes)
