Responsibilities
- Provide specialized respiratory care to neonatal and NICU patients, including assessment, treatment planning, and airway management
- Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen delivery, inhaled medications, and non-invasive ventilation as ordered
- Manage ventilator support, monitor patient response, adjust settings per physician orders, and document ongoing care
- Perform equipment checks and troubleshooting on ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP devices, suctioning equipment, and humidification systems
- Collaborate with the NICU multidisciplinary team, participate in rounds, and maintain accurate charting in patient records
- Respond to respiratory emergencies, apply NRP protocols, and ensure patient safety and infection control
Requirements
- Current Georgia RRT licensure (NBRC-RRT credential) active
- NBRC-RRT credential
- NRP certification; Neonatal delivery experience
- AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent, specialty-specific experience in neonatal respiratory care (NICU)
- Education: degree from an accredited respiratory therapy program
- Ability to work in a NICU/hospital setting on a travel assignment
