Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for ER patients using the nursing process and established standards of care
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care; monitor patient status and respond to changes
- Administer medications and treatments per orders; document accurately in the medical record
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate with other disciplines
- Triage and stabilize patients; recognize emergencies and escalate promptly
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy; participate in discharge planning and patient education as appropriate
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- 1+ year of ER or acute care nursing experience
- Ability to work a 3x12-hour day shift in a travel assignment
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (RN); BSN preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced ER environment
