Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care for pediatric patients in perioperative and acute-care contexts within a surgical-center setting.
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient conditions, vital signs, and response to interventions; implement physician orders and care plans.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other health professionals to ensure safe, age-appropriate care and timely patient flow.
- Document care activities, outcomes, and standard-of-care compliance; participate in shift handoffs and quality-improvement efforts.
- Provide patient- and family-centered education regarding perioperative processes, post-operative care, safety, discharge instructions, and follow-up needs.
- Maintain readiness for emergent situations per ACLS/PALS guidelines and hospital policies; support continuous learning and adherence to pediatric-specific standards.

Requirements
- Licensure: Current, valid RN license to practice in any U.S. state, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory
- Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association; Complete Pediatric Trauma Care After Resuscitation (P-CAR) within 6 months of hire; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) completed within 6 months of hire; NIHSS must be completed within 6 months of hire
- Orientation: Onboarding will occur with a scheduled orientation every two weeks
- COVID/Flu: Vaccination exemptions may be considered per policy with appropriate forms
