- Perinatal unit setting: Level III care with 19 L&D beds, 10 antepartum, 30 postpartum; Level II NICU
- Holidays: must work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day)
- Orientation: 40 hours
- Weekend coverage required; staff may float to Postpartum as needed
Responsibilities
- Manage labor and delivery, including vaginal deliveries and C-section assistance/recovery
- Monitor fetal status via external/internal electronic fetal monitoring; interpret EFM data and manage IUPC as needed
- Provide comprehensive mother–baby care: antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, couplets support, and breastfeeding coaching
- Administer obstetric medications (e.g., magnesium sulfate, analgesia) and respond to obstetric emergencies (hemorrhage, preeclampsia/HELLP)
- Collaborate with obstetricians, CRNAs, OR staff, and ancillary teams; assist OR/PACU and triage as appropriate
- Neonatal resuscitation, newborn assessment, and ongoing newborn care; ensure accurate EPIC documentation
- Maintain sterile technique, IV starts, medication administration, and timely charting; provide patient/family education
Requirements
- Active WA RN license in-hand or Compact WA RN license
- Certifications: BLS (BCLS), ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate OR Relias Fetal Monitoring
- EPIC charting experience; ability to perform Sterile Vaginal Exam (SVE)
- Experience: minimum 2 years RN experience; first-time travelers accepted; preferred: facilities with 200+ deliveries
- Perinatal care experience; Level III/ high-risk perinatal unit experience preferred
- Ability to work in a high-risk perinatal setting; weekends required; ability to float to Postpartum as needed
