Responsibilities
- Accurately charge for patients and unit supplies
- Administer and control narcotics and medications; provide IV fluids according to policy
- Perform age-specific assessments and develop an individualized plan of care; set nursing priorities
- Document patient assessments, plans, interventions, and responses in the clinical record; communicate with the care team, patients, families, and physicians
- Provide patient and family education; demonstrate safe techniques with equipment; manage emergencies promptly and professionally
- Lead and delegate tasks as appropriate to other care team members under RN supervision; maintain a clean, safe, and organized care environment
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California
- Ability to work nights (3x12-hour shifts) and participate in a travel assignment
- Comfort providing care across the infant, adolescent, adult, and geriatric ages
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the patient care team
- Ability to document clearly and adhere to unit policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
