Responsibilities
- Deliver direct, patient-centered nursing care to ICU patients using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Monitor patient status, interpret data, respond to acute changes, administer medications, and support life-sustaining therapies as applicable.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other members of the care team; coordinate care and communicate changes in the plan of care.
- Supervise and direct activities of licensed and unlicensed staff; delegate appropriately and maintain a safe, healing environment.
- Engage patients and families with education and discharge planning to support continuity of care after hospitalization.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EPIC) and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
Requirements
- Current California RN license
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications; PALS certification
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
- EPIC EMR experience required
- BSN preferred
- Ability to work night shifts in a high-acuity ICU environment
