Responsibilities
- Provide direct, evidence-based nursing care for adult CVU patients, including those post-open-heart procedures and complex cardiology conditions
- Monitor vital signs and hemodynamics, interpret EKGs, administer and titrate cardiac medications, and manage invasive lines as appropriate
- Oversee ventilator management when required and participate in post-operative recovery for open-heart surgery patients (18–24 hours post-op)
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (cardiology, perfusion, anesthesia, nursing leadership) to ensure safe, timely care and accurate documentation
- Perform and support procedures pertinent to cardiovascular care, including common post-op care and cardiology studies as assigned
- Be prepared to float to similar units (neuro, CVICU, trauma) per assignment; follow unit-specific policies and protocols
- Maintain compliance with unit standards, participate in quality and safety initiatives, and adhere to attendance expectations

Requirements
- Licensure: Active RN license in Michigan; verify through LARA and Nursys (license hits, if any, should be reviewed with a manager)
- Certifications: ACLS and BLS required
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of ICU experience (floating to other units not counted toward this requirement)
- Special experience: EKG experience required
- Willingness to float to similar units (neuro, CVICU, trauma) as needed
- Education: RN degree required (specific degree level not stated in notes)
- Additional: Michigan license verification and ability to work in a high-acuity CVU environment
