Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to critically ill adults in a float pool, rotating across ED, ICU, and IMCU as needed.
- Monitor patient status, interpret clinical data, perform comprehensive assessments, and respond to changes in condition.
- Administer medications and therapies, manage IVs, and support complex treatments as ordered.
- Operate and monitor specialty equipment within scope (e.g., ventilators, ICP monitoring, CRRT, IABP, TTM) and respond to emergencies.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, document care in the electronic health record (Epic), and communicate with physicians and unit leadership.
- Maintain patient safety, infection control practices, and adherence to evidence-based protocols during unit transitions and patient handoffs.
Requirements
- Active New York RN license
- BLS, ACLS, NIH required
- 2+ years of ICU experience
- Travel experience required; local candidates within 75 miles may be offered a local rate
- Willing to float to ED, ICU, and IMCU; Epic EMR experience
- RTO (time off) must be included at time of submission
