Pittsfield, MA
Contracted
Berkshire Medical Center
Mid Level
Embark on a dynamic journey as an MRI Tech with our national travel program, bringing your expertise to Massachusetts, Pittsfield, and beyond. This is more than a job—it's an opportunity to shape patient care while embracing the freedom to learn across a spectrum of imaging environments. Starting April 6, 2026, you’ll join a supportive team that values precision, compassion, and adaptability. In this role you’ll play a pivotal part in delivering high-quality MR imaging services to diverse populations, helping radiologists make timely diagnoses, and mentoring junior staff along the way. And when you need a moment to recharge, you can revel in the unique beauty of Massachusetts—the Berkshires’ rolling hills, the brilliant colors of fall foliage, the charm of small-town villages, the cultural vibrancy of Tanglewood, and easy access to outdoor recreation.
Location benefits: Pittsfield sits in the heart of the scenic Berkshires, offering enriching surroundings that balance professional focus with outdoor and cultural opportunities. You’ll also have the opportunity to work across various U.S. locations, gaining exposure to multiple hospital settings and imaging systems. This diversity strengthens your clinical toolkit, from coordinating patient flow in busy departments to performing specialized sequences on 1.5T and 3T scanners, including newer upgrades. Travel promotes professional resilience, expands your network of peers and mentors, and provides you with fresh challenges that sharpen diagnostic acumen while maintaining work–life balance through flexible scheduling and support.
Role specifics and benefits:
- Core responsibilities: operate MRI scanners, prepare patients, verify orders, screen for contraindications, administer contrast per protocol, optimize coil selection and imaging parameters, acquire high-quality anatomical and functional MR images, monitor patients for comfort and safety, and perform preliminary quality checks before submission. You’ll collaborate with radiologists and technologists, troubleshoot equipment or sequence issues, and maintain strict adherence to safety, infection control, and data integrity standards. Documentation and communication with care teams ensure seamless patient journeys from check-in to discharge, and you’ll contribute to ongoing protocol refinement to improve speed and accuracy.
- Growth and development: leverage exposure to a variety of protocols and clinical scenarios to deepen expertise in neuro, musculoskeletal, and body imaging sequences. Access continual education resources, mentorship from senior technologists, and opportunities to expand your skill set with advanced sequences, artifact reduction strategies, and QA processes. This assignment is designed to support your career trajectory within the MRI specialty, with the potential for increased responsibilities and leadership roles in future placements.
- Benefits beyond compensation: competitive weekly pay ranging from $2,853 to $2,902, plus performance-based incentives and a signing or completion bonus where applicable. Housing assistance is available to ease transitions, whether you seek company-curated arrangements or a housing stipend. There are extension opportunities aligned with unit needs and your performance, offering continuity with teams you’ve grown to know and appreciate.
- Support and security: you won’t travel alone. Our dedicated travel coordinators provide 24/7 support, ensuring you have help when you need it, from credentialing to on-site logistics and any personal needs that arise while on assignment. We facilitate smooth onboarding, clear communication channels, and rapid problem-solving so you can focus on patient care and imaging excellence.
