Responsibilities
- Provide direct perioperative care for surgical patients, under the supervision of the surgeon and anesthesia team
- Prepare and maintain a sterile operating field, assist with instrument handling, and ensure instrument counts are accurate
- Position patients safely and ensure proper equipment readiness and functionality for procedures
- Monitor patient status intraoperatively, document vital signs, and communicate changes to the team
- Collaborate with the anesthesia team and surgical staff to ensure patient safety and quality of care
- Manage postoperative handoffs and maintain accurate perioperative documentation and infection-control practices
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts on a 12x3 schedule
- Willingness to travel for a temporary assignment
- No local candidates within 50 miles of specified location
