Responsibilities
- Provide direct, professional nursing care to ER patients, including assessment, monitoring, medication administration, and therapies per physician orders
- Respond to acute patient changes, implement timely interventions, and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team
- Triage patient needs, prioritize care, and participate in throughput and discharge planning
- Document care accurately in the electronic health record and ensure continuity of care across shifts
- Perform established assessments such as stroke scales (NIHSS) and assist with procedures as needed, consistent with scope of practice
- Maintain patient and family safety, apply infection control standards, and support a respectful, culturally sensitive care environment
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in any state (per job notes)
- Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within one year of hire; Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) within one year; Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) within one year; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) within six months; Emergency Severity Index Level 5 (ESI 5) within three months; Patient Sitter Competency Training upon hire
- Education: RN degree and licensure as required for practice (education details specified by employer)
- Experience: ER/acute care experience preferred; able to work in a surgical center travel assignment
- Orientation: Onboarding orientation every two weeks
- Housing: Housing app must be submitted two weeks prior to start; shared housing options available with stated terms
- Flexibility: Ability to work across days/evenings/nights and weekends as needed
