Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to Med Surg Tele patients, including monitoring telemetry and vitals, delivering medications, and performing routine assessments.
- Administer IV therapy and utilize IV pumps; conduct bladder scans and glucose monitoring; obtain blood draws, including from central lines as appropriate.
- Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record; adhere to MAK medication system and unit protocols.
- Assist with ED Hold patients and participate in resource float to support unit needs; collaborate with interdisciplinary team to optimize patient flow and safety.
- Maintain readiness for rapid changes in patient status; respond to emergencies per unit protocols; coordinate with charge nurse and ancillary staff to ensure quality care.
- Ensure compliance with required certifications and standards, including BLS and NIHSS prerequisites; Epic experience within the past 2 years is required prior to start.

Requirements
- Active New York RN license in good standing; license must be on file at submission
- AHA BLS certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required prior to starting
- Epic experience within the past 2 years is required
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience; minimum 1 year in a Med Surg Tele setting
- CMSRN certification preferred
- Ability to work in a hospital Telemetry unit and float to additional tele units including ED Hold
- Schedule includes every other weekend as part of the rotation; scheduling is not self-directed
- Senior orientation and unit-specific procedures apply; IVs, bladder scans, and glucose monitoring proficiency expected
