Registered Nurse with a Behavioral Health / Psychiatric specialty is needed for a travel assignment in Rochester, New York. Responsibilities
- Conduct intake assessments via interviews with patients and families to gather case history
- Develop and implement nursing care plans; collaborate with psychiatrists and behavioral health staff to design treatment plans
- Administer and monitor psychotropic and other medications; document responses and report adverse effects
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients and staff; apply de-escalation and safety measures as needed
- Document all patient information, vital signs, treatments, and lab results; ensure confidentiality and complete progress notes in the electronic medical record
- Educate patients and families about treatment options and supports; coordinate referrals for follow-up medical care
Requirements
- Active NY Licensed Registered Nurse (RN)
- CPI Certification
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
- Minimum 2 years of behavioral health/psychiatric nursing experience
- Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Strong documentation and communication skills; ability to work in a hospital-based behavioral health unit
