Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for Med Surg and, as needed, ER patients, including monitoring, assessment, and documentation.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; monitor for adverse effects and respond to changes in patient condition.
- Triage and manage a range of Med Surg and emergency presentations; assist with codes and emergent events per established protocols.
- Collaborate with LPNs, CNAs, and ancillary staff to ensure safe care delivery, patient flow, and effective handoffs.
- Document care in the electronic medical record (Athena) and participate in discharge planning and patient education.
- Adhere to infection control, privacy, and safety policies; maintain professional standards in a small-team CAH setting.
Requirements
- Active RN license in Kansas or multi-state licensure accepted
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (AHA) required
- Experience: Med Surg and ER exposure; travel experience preferred but first-time travelers considered; under 3 years’ experience may be reviewed
- Education: RN degree; current licensure to practice
- Ability to work in a CAH environment and float between Med Surg and ER as needed
- Proficiency with Athena EMR or willingness to learn; strong communication and teamwork skills
