Responsibilities
- Provide triage, assessment, treatment, and discharge planning for ED patients from newborns to geriatrics
- Administer medications and IV therapy, including blood products; monitor patient status and vital signs
- Interpret ECG rhythms and manage care during life-threatening emergencies; participate in Code Blue, Code Stroke, sepsis, and trauma activations
- Complete orders promptly; document accurately and legibly; provide patient and family teaching on medications and discharge instructions
- Maintain equipment safety and support routine nursing tasks (IVs, catheters, drains) while following the department’s chain of command
Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of California (state of practice) required
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
- Experience: One year of acute care experience required
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 6 months of hire or transfer; NIHSS certification/training; EPIC experience
- Additional credentials: AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS; AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced Emergency Department environment; nights; 3x12-hour schedule
