Travel Physical Therapist Job

Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and develop, implement, and monitor plans of care for hospitalized patients
- Provide therapeutic interventions focused on mobility, gait training, strength, range of motion, balance, and functional activities to support recovery and safe discharge
- Reassess patient progress regularly, adjust treatment plans, and document outcomes in the medical record per policy
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to optimize discharge planning, patient education, and continuity of care
- Educate patients and families on prescribed exercises, safety, and activity limits; ensure appropriate device use and functional training
- Ensure accurate, timely charting and adherence to HIPAA, regulatory, and facility standards
Requirements
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) required if degree obtained after 2016
- BLS certification required
- Current California licensure or eligibility to practice physical therapy in California
- Minimum 1 year of home health experience preferred; new graduates may be considered with appropriate training
- Must be 21 years or older
- Ability to work a 4x10-hour shift pattern and adapt to hospital-based PT practice
