Responsibilities
- Perform clinical assessment to identify patient needs and appropriateness of physical therapy.
- Develop, implement, and review a Plan of Care (POC); document progress notes, phone orders, and other clinical records; revise the POC as evaluation data evolves; collaborate with the physician and an interdisciplinary team.
- Plan and deliver treatment for neuromuscular, neurological, and orthopedic disorders based on medical referral and therapy assessments.
- Instruct patients and families in transfer techniques appropriate to patient abilities; teach safe use of equipment (walker, wheelchair, canes, braces, prosthetic devices) and adapt equipment to home environments.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding therapeutic procedures, tailored to age, condition, culture, and learning readiness.
- Supervise and coordinate with other team members when applicable; apply infection control and universal precautions in patient care.
- Accept clinical assignments within education and competence, and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Active license as a Physical Therapist in the state of Colorado
- Proof of current CPR certification
- Current driver’s license with reliable transportation and insurance
- 1–2 years of PT experience in an acute care or rehabilitation setting
- Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from an American Physical Therapy Association approved program
