Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity environment, applying emergency nursing judgment and care coordination within a home healthcare-hospice context as appropriate.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, using Pyxis for dispensing and documenting in Cerner.
- Monitor patient status, perform triage, start initial interventions, and escalate to the appropriate care team as needed.
- Initiate and manage IV therapy, monitor vital signs, and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team for disposition, transports, or admissions.
- Document accurately and timely in the electronic health record; ensure safety, infection control, and adherence to policies.
- Support weekend coverage requirements as outlined (6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period) and participate in shift-to-shift handoffs.
Requirements
- Current RN license in California (active).
- Ability to work in a travel assignment with a 3x12-hour shift schedule (36 hours per week) and rotate through the described setting.
- Weekend availability to meet scheduling requirements (6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period).
- ER nursing or acute care experience preferred.
