Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments per orders and facility policy
- Monitor patients’ condition, document vital signs, and update progress notes
- Perform routine nursing care, wound care, injections, and specimen collection as directed
- Respond to clinical needs and emergencies, following established protocols and safety rules
- Collaborate with healthcare and custody staff to coordinate care and ensure safe handoffs
- Maintain accurate records and ensure clear, timely communication during shift change
Requirements
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse license (VT or eligible for VT licensure)
- Diploma from an accredited practical nursing program
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Ability to work night shifts in a corrections setting
- Strong documentation, communication, and teamwork skills
- Competence with standard nursing procedures and patient safety practices
