Travel Registered Nurse OR Job
Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR) travel assignment in Rochester, NY. Start date: 08/03/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,010 to $2,118 per week. Shift: 12-hour rotating schedule with on-call/callback, holidays and weekends as needed. Setting: OR within a hospital-level trauma program, featuring two DaVinci robotic systems and a transplant program (livers, kidneys, and hearts). Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care as a scrub and circulating RN for diverse surgical cases, including orthopedics, general surgery, plastics, urology, cardiac, neuro, vascular, ophthalmic, GYN, ENT, thoracic, oral-maxillofacial, and trauma.
- Maintain sterile technique, prepare the sterile field, manage instrumentation counts, and handle specimens according to protocol.
- Support robotic-assisted procedures using two DaVinci systems across services; assist with setup, docking, and intraoperative coordination.
- Assist with complex transplant cases (liver, kidney, heart) and other specialty procedures, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.
- Monitor intraoperative patient status, collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia, and ensure adherence to safety, infection control, and documentation standards.
- Provide on-call/callback coverage and participate in weekend/holiday coverage as required by unit needs.
Requirements
- Active RN license in New York State
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
- Minimum of 2 years operating room experience; Level 1 trauma center experience highly desired
- Ability to scrub and circulate for a broad range of surgical cases
- Telemetry experience highly desired
- Education: RN with active New York license (no additional education details provided)
