This role requires a registered professional nurse who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated shift. The RN prescribes nursing care based on the nursing process aligned with the medical plan of care and informed by patient and family input. You will collaborate with physicians and the health care team to coordinate patient care across age groups as assigned, which may include neonatal through geriatric populations depending on the unit. Teaching and discharge planning are integrated into the plan of care, and delegation of certain nursing tasks to other staff is based on clinical competence and scope of practice. This position is represented by CNA.

Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for a designated group of patients during a shift using the nursing process and the medical plan of care.
- Collaborate with physicians and other members of the health care team to coordinate patient care and ensure consistency across services.
- Deliver age-appropriate care across the unit’s patient population as assigned, incorporating patient and family education and discharge planning.
- Delegate suitable tasks to other nursing staff based on current clinical competence and legal scope of practice.
- Maintain accurate documentation, ensure patient safety, and promote continuity of care across shifts.
- This position is represented by CNA.
Requirements
- Current RN license to practice (state-specific as applicable)
- Oncology nursing experience (as part of the specialty focus)
- Ability to provide care across the lifespan as required by the assigned unit
- Willingness to work a 12-hour day shift schedule (3x per week)
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to coordinate with the care team
- Ability to meet required clinical competencies and adapt to a hospital setting
