Travel Speech Language Pathologist Job
Speech Language Pathologist – Acute care setting in Cumming, Georgia. Start date 06/29/2026 for a 13-week travel assignment with guaranteed 40 hours per week. Shift: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. This position supports an inpatient, acute care team addressing a broad range of medical and surgical diagnoses, including ICU patients, stroke/neurological cases, dysphagia, respiratory compromise, and cognitive-communication needs.

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech-language pathology evaluations and develop evidence-based treatment plans for acute care inpatients, including dysphagia management and cognitive-communication interventions.
- Implement therapy and supervision of bedside sessions, documenting progress notes, goals, and discharge planning in the medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to adjust plans based on medical status, orders, and patient response.
- Provide patient and family education on communication strategies, swallowing safety, and post-discharge recommendations; participate in patient rounds and status updates.
- Manage care for a variety of diagnoses such as ICU-registered patients, stroke or neurological conditions, respiratory compromise, and related swallowing and communication disorders.
- Utilize safety protocols, including AHA BLS guidelines, and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Active Georgia license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist and CCC-SLP certification
- AHA BLS certification
- 15–18 months of recent experience within the specialty, preferably in an acute care/inpatient setting
- Ability to work in an acute care/inpatient environment and collaborate across disciplines
- Proficiency in MBS/FEES is a plus but not required
