Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Supervise and direct activities of varying levels of nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines using critical thinking and professional judgment.
- Monitor patient status; administer medications and treatments as ordered; document assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Assess and plan care, develop and update care plans, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to achieve patient goals.
- Maintain patient safety, adhere to policies, ensure infection control practices, and contribute to quality improvement.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families; provide education and discharge planning as appropriate.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California (or eligibility for CA licensure)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Prior behavioral health/psychiatric nursing experience preferred
- Ability to work night shift in a hospital setting
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (RN) required; BSN preferred
