Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive respiratory care in ICU, NICU, ER, and floor therapy settings for neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Manage mechanical ventilation and critical care support, including adjusting ventilator settings under physician direction and monitoring alarms.
- Administer prescribed inhaled medications (LABA, LAMA, SABA, ICS) and provide related therapies; administer surfactant as applicable per patient needs.
- Perform arterial puncture and obtain arterial blood gases; implement noninvasive ventilation and airway procedures as required.
- Monitor patient progress, document care in the health record, participate in rounds, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes.
- Ensure safe equipment operation with commonly used devices and room ventilation supports; respond to changes in patient status promptly.
Requirements
- NICU experience preferred; NRP certification required if NICU experience is present
- Mechanical ventilation/critical care experience required
- Ability to work across ICU, NICU, ER, and floor therapy settings
- Completion of a virtual interview as part of the selection process
