Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, effective, patient-family centered care in the Emergency Department in alignment with Maine state standards and organizational policies.
- Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions; respond rapidly to changes in status; initiate appropriate interventions.
- Develop and participate in patient care plans in collaboration with the health care team; communicate clearly during handoffs.
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures per physician orders; monitor for adverse reactions and document accurately.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
- Educate patients and families, plan discharge needs, and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure appropriate transitions of care.
- Demonstrate proficient computer/documentation skills and ability to function independently in a fast-paced ED environment.
Requirements
- Current registered nurse licensure in the State of Maine or Authorization to Practice pending licensure by endorsement.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current BCLS, ACLS, and PALS within six months of the hire date.
- Two years minimum ER experience preferred.
- Excellent assessment, communication, and documentation skills; proficient in EMR usage.
- Ability to function independently and respond rapidly in emergency situations.
- Availability to work the specified 3x12-hour day shift schedule.
