Responsibilities
- Deliver perioperative nursing care before, during, and after procedures to support patient safety and optimal outcomes.
- Prepare the OR for cases, assist with patient positioning, maintain sterile technique, and ensure proper instrument and equipment readiness and counts.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and circulating staff to support a smooth intraoperative workflow.
- Monitor patient status intraoperatively, identify changes, and respond quickly to protect patient safety.
- Document care and intraoperative events accurately in electronic systems; be proficient with scheduling and workflow tools such as Outlook, Workday, and Shift Wizard to access required apps.
- Provide coverage for weekends and holidays as part of OR call requirements; contribute to high-acuity trauma, neuro, and vascular procedures as assigned.
Requirements
- OR nursing experience; prior travel assignment preferred.
- Level 1 trauma experience preferred.
- Proficiency in neuro and vascular skills per a skills checklist.
- Ability to use Outlook, Workday, and Shift Wizard; access to required electronics for scheduling and communication.
- Availability for weekend and holiday call; comfortable working in a fast-paced OR environment.
