Responsibilities
- Assess patient needs and develop a care plan in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team; provide direct nursing care and coordinate care delivery throughout the patient’s episode
- Deliver age-appropriate, culturally sensitive care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients admitted to the Endo/acute care setting
- Support endoscopy-related care across pre-op, intra-op, and post-op phases as assigned; promote comfort, safety, and patient/family education
- Educate patients and families for self-care after discharge; document education provided and patient/family response
- Monitor, evaluate, and adjust nursing care based on patient response; adhere to infection prevention and safety standards
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses and other health professionals to optimize patient outcomes; participate in shift handoffs and care coordination
Requirements
- Active NYS Registered Nurse licensure
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an Endoscopy/Endo RN or equivalent in an Endoscopy environment
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS (as required)
- Capacity to participate in a full call rotation (1-hour response time) and biweekly schedule
- Ability to work in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital setting
- Flexibility to start shifts at 6:30am, 7:00am, or 7:30am based on assigned role for the day
