Responsibilities
- Prepare the CVOR for operative cases, maintaining sterile technique and ensuring correct patient identity and positioning
- Assist the surgical team during cardiovascular procedures by providing instruments and devices as needed
- Monitor and support intraoperative cardiovascular equipment and imaging under the guidance of the surgical team
- Maintain instrument counts, specimen handling, and accurate documentation of intraoperative events
- Support room turnover and decontamination between cases, ensuring readiness for subsequent procedures
- Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and scrub staff to promote patient safety and efficient workflow
Requirements
- GAPS registration is required for submission; local candidates preferred due to longer fingerprinting processing times for non-local applicants
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the specialty (CVOR or related operating room role)
- National Certification Card (e.g., cardiovascular technologist certification or surgical technology credential)
- Skills Checklist and professional References available upon request
- Work history/resume with no gaps greater than 60 days; load all demographic information into profile, including badge-appropriate photo
