Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for neuro/step-down patients in the PCU, including neuro assessments and monitoring.
- Perform NIHSS assessments as ordered and document findings in the patient record; administer medications and manage IV therapy per plan of care.
- Collaborate with physicians, case management, and multidisciplinary teams; update care plans and participate in discharge planning.
- Maintain thorough, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EPIC) and ensure patient safety and quality standards are met.
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition; implement escalation procedures and participate in rounds and handoffs with clarity and accuracy.
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care; ensure compliance with hospital policies and infection control practices.

Requirements
- Active RN license (Georgia) or eligible for licensure in Georgia.
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a neuro, PCU, or step-down specialty; neuro step-down experience strongly preferred.
- NIHSS documentation included in CV packet; NIHSS in CV packet is required to be considered.
- ACLS certification; EPIC EMR experience.
- Able to work the listed shift (night shifts) and adapt to a hospital setting.
- Minimum education: graduation from an approved nursing program (RN).
- Additional candidate profile materials: work history/resume with no gaps greater than 60 days, Skills Checklist, References, Certification Card, Nursys License Verification; load all demographic information into profile, including badge-appropriate photo.
- Weekend scheduling: no block scheduling required; weekends are not mandatory for this assignment.
