Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated post-anesthesia care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs, pain levels, airway status, and recovery progress; intervene as needed.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments; document care and patient response in the electronic health record.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of nursing staff; collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other disciplines to coordinate care.
- Develop, implement, and adjust care plans; participate in discharge planning to ensure safe transitions and continuity of care; provide education to patients and families.
- Promote a safe, healing environment; uphold infection control, safety protocols, and high-quality nursing practice; delegate tasks appropriately and ensure appropriate supervision.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice (Oregon)
- BLS/CPR certification required; ACLS certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience in acute care or PACU settings
- BSN preferred
- EPIC and Cerner experience required for backfill assignments
- Ability to work in a PACU within a critical access hospital setting and handle the responsibilities of a travel assignment
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Licensure: RN licensure in the state of practice (Oregon) required
Certifications
- BLS (required)
- ACLS (required)
- EPIC and Cerner experience required for backfill assignments
