Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and treatment plans under physician orders, observing all safety precautions, indications, and contraindications.
- Establish and implement a therapy plan of care with clear short- and long-term goals tailored to each patient’s needs and level of function.
- Deliver therapeutic interventions across neuro, ortho, and gait-retraining domains, including mobility training, strength, balance, and functional mobility activities.
- Monitor patient response, document progress, and adjust goals and interventions per department protocols and interdisciplinary input.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and a multidisciplinary team to maximize functional independence and transitions of care.
- Ensure accurate charting, timely communication of updates, and adherence to regulatory and facility standards for quality and safety.
Requirements
- License: Active Physical Therapist licensure in the State of Maine
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master’s or Doctorate in Physical Therapy preferred
- Experience: Prior experience not specified in the posting; ability to perform evaluations and plan of care per department protocols
- Skills: Strong interpersonal communication; ability to work effectively in a high-stress clinical environment; English proficiency (reading, writing, speaking)
- Location/policy: Candidate must reside outside of a 50-mile radius of the assignment
